Lime Blossom

The linden tree was considered a sacred tree thousands of years ago. It was often placed in the center of a village. The “spirit” of the linden tree was seen as the protector for houses, wells and churches. Various trials, weddings or funerals would be held under the tree. Indeed, the tree was said to protect against evil influences because the goddess Freya had taken up residence in the tree. The linden tree is a beautiful tree to behold. The wide-growing tree has beautiful heart-shaped leaves that have a special blue-green color on the underside. In summer, the tree blooms with pale yellow flowers that give off a lovely sweet fragrance.

Usage of linden blossom

The leaves and blossoms of the linden tree are edible. The young leaves can be used raw in salads. Later in the season, the leaves are a bit tougher and it is better to cook them first. The blossom of the linden tree is an ideal seasoning in both savory and sweet dishes. You can use the sweet little flowers in soups or sauces, but also in desserts, cakes or cookies. Moreover, you can make delicious lemonade and tea from the linden blossom.

Why do we use the lime blossom?

Lime blossom is a delicious herb reminiscent of honey in taste. Its strong aromas make it ideal for making tea. You will find linden blossom in both our Detox tea and our Resistance tea. A hot cup of tea is perfect to create a moment for yourself.
