What is goldenrod?

Goldenrod is a genus of more than 100 species in the composite family(Asteraceae). The plant is characterized by its straight stem (rod) and striking golden yellow (goldenrod) flowers. Originally the Goldenrod is from North America, but some species are also found in Europe. Because of its beautiful flowers, the Goldenrod is very suitable as an ornamental plant and even as a decoration. In addition, the leaves and flowers are used to make tea.
