Green tea
All tea (black, white and green) is made from the same plant. Namely, the Camellia Sinensis (the tea plant). Tea is made because the leaves of this plant are picked and then dried. As a result, fermentation occurs. The degree of fermentation determines the type of tea (for example, black or green tea).
Green tea leaves, however, are not fermented at all. This preserves the original light green color of the leaves. As a result, the tea is also light green in color after being steeped in hot water. We tell you more about the origin of green tea.
