Vanilla

Vanilla is the second most expensive spice in the world after saffron. It comes mainly from Madagascar; this country is the largest vanilla producer worldwide. Vanilla is obtained from the vanilla orchid. This plant grows large fruits that look like pods. Picking the pods unripe and then drying them creates the well-known black vanilla pods. Vanilla has a wonderful aromatic flavor and fragrance that goes perfectly with sweet dishes.

Why do we use vanilla?

Vanilla makes many recipes extra tasty because of its strong, sweetish aromatic flavor. It is one of the most popular flavorings for a reason. We also like to use it in our juices.
