Lacinto Kale

Kale is a leafy crop that can be grown on all types of soil. It is a typical Dutch winter vegetable and probably familiar to many people. Kale has traditionally been eaten in many households. It is a tremendously healthy vegetable. We explain why this vegetable should not be missing from your menu.

What nutrients are in it?

On average, kale has twice as much of the antioxidant vitamin C as other leafy vegetables. This crop has a rich variety and high concentration of important nutrients. An average serving of kale (200 grams) offers you 1780% (!) of the RDA for vitamin K, 84% of the RDA for vitamin A and 267% of the RDA for vitamin C (even more than an orange). In addition, kale is high in vitamin B6 and vitamin B11 (folic acid). In addition to vitamins, kale contains many of the minerals calcium (36% RDA per serving) and potassium (23% RDA per serving). Kale also contains quite a bit of protein.
