Rosehip

Rose hips not only color beautifully in the tree in spring: they are also very healthy! The botanical name for the rose hip bush is ‘Rosa Canina’. This means “Rose of the Dog” or “Dog Rose. The plant is so named because the root was formerly used to treat bites of rabid animals/dogs. Nowadays the rose hip is considered a real superfood and we explain why.

The vitamins and minerals

The rose hip contains many different vitamins and minerals, including vitamin C. There is 10 times more amount of vitamin C in a rose hip than in an orange! In addition, the rose hip contains vitamin A and the minerals potassium, calcium, magnesium and manganese. A lot of good substances to support your health! Moreover, the rose hip is rich in fiber.

What does this mean for your body?

The vitamins and minerals from rose hip contribute to many different processes in your body. We explain some of them to you.

Why do we use rosehip?

We like to use rose hip in our dishes and juices. It has a predominant flavor, but in light forms in dishes or juices, the flavor of the rose hip adds a unique touch.
