Sage
Sage is an herbal plant in the so-called lipflower family. The plant is native to Mediterranean countries in southern Europe and North Africa. The herb is very aromatic and slightly bitter in taste.
The ancient Greeks and Romans discovered this plant in the mountains. That this herb has been valued since ancient times is evident from the Latin verb “salvare” (translated: to save) from which sage, also called Salvia officinalis, can be derived.
