Lemon verbena

Lemon verbena is native to Chile and is now used as a kitchen herb worldwide. The leaves are characterized by their lemon fragrance. The herb blooms with beautiful light purple flowers. We tell you more about lemon verbena.

What substances are in it?

Lemon verbena contains mainly essential oil containing mainly aldehydes such as geraniol, citrol, neral and eucalyptol. Furthermore, it contains flavonoids such as hispidulin, salvigenin and eupafoline. The herb also contains betacaryophyllene, alpha-farnesene, monoterpenes including limonene, terpene alcohols such as linool and terpineol and furcoumarins.

Why do we use lemon verbena?

The leaves of lemon verbena have a lemony, fresh flavor. Besides its unique flavor, lemon verbena also has a recognizable fragrance. To add a fresh touch to the Juices, we use lemon verbena.
