The sea buckthorn berry is a bright orange berry derived from the sea buckthorn. This shrub grows in dune areas in Western Europe and Asia. In traditional Chinese herbal teachings, the berry was already used a thousand years ago. The berry also has a long history in Russia and Mongolia. Sea buckthorn fruits contain a lot of yellow-like oil; they are called the olives of the north. These beautiful berries grow wild and you can pick them in the Netherlands mainly at the dune areas.
