Basil

The basil plant is from the genus of lipflower plants. Its name comes from the Greek “Basileus” meaning “king. Basil is also called king’s herb for a reason. In India, it is even a sacred herb.

What nutrients are in it?

This strongly aromatic herb, familiar mainly from Mediterranean cuisine, is high in vitamin B2, vitamin K and the minerals potassium, calcium and iron.
