Fennel
Fennel is a strong aromatic herb with a very fresh taste. It is a distinct flavoring, including in special alcoholic drinks such as Absinthe, Raki, Sambuca and Ouzo. The strong licorice taste of fennel comes from the substance anethole; a so-called phytoestrogen.
