Ras el hanout
Ras el Hanout is a complex and aromatic spice blend originating from the Maghreb region (North Africa), especially Morocco. The name literally means “the head of the store” and implies that it contains the merchant’s best and most diverse spices. Its composition varies widely, but often includes 10 to as many as 30 ingredients such as cumin, coriander seeds, cinnamon, turmeric, ginger, cloves and cardamom. It has a warm, earthy and slightly sweet flavor.
