Chard

Swiss chard is the foliage of the red beet. This particular foliage was used by both the ancient Greeks and ancient Romans. Chard comes from the Mediterranean region. Nowadays, the vegetable is also grown in the Netherlands.

What substances are in it?

Swiss chard is particularly high in vitamins, including A, B6, B11, C, K and the minerals iron and potassium. In fact, the leaves and stems of beet contain more vitamins and minerals than the beets themselves.

What does this mean for my health?

  • Vitamin A is good for your eyesight and has a positive effect on your immune system. In addition, this vitamin is good for your skin and iron balance.

Why do we use the chard?

Chard is tremendously delicious and healthy. The taste is similar to spinach, only chard is a lot softer. The taste is full and the vitamins and minerals in these vegetables abundant. This vegetable is a true addition to our ingredient list. Chard has many healthy properties and that is why we love using it.
