Coconut water
Coconut water, not to be confused with coconut milk, is the water found inside a coconut. The coconut itself produces this water as it grows and matures. The coconut does this by absorbing rainwater. The rainwater is filtered through the fibers present in the nut and stored in the inner part of the coconut. Filtering removes all contaminants and bacteria from the rainwater, leaving sterile, clean water. The coconut tree also adds minerals and vitamins to the coconut water as it grows.
Where the coconut finds its origin is not known. We do know that coconut palms thrive especially well in tropical areas, where they grow in abundance.
